After an initial round of testing Fonterra have provided some new guidelines about the rinsing of plant to reduce residues in the bulk milk tank. They are going to do some continued testing through the start of the season and grades applied with only be advisory. From the 1st of November all detergent residue tests over 30ppb will incur demerit points. This gives farmers enough time to sort out their rinsing programme before grades are implemented.
